Texas Partnerships and other Business entities

I came across this great post by González, Roach & Mosier Law, PLLC comparing the different types of Texas partnerships.

Texas entities structured as partnerships come in three forms:

  • the General Partnership (GP)
  • the Limited Partnership (LP)
  • the Limited Liability Partnership (LLP)

Of course, the State of Texas website also has an in depth article on Selecting a Business Structure. It covers sole proprietorships as well as general partnerships, limited liability companies, limited partnerships, and limited liability partnerships.

And, just to close out the post, here’s a link to a Houston Chronicle article on “How to Dissolve a Business in Texas.”

When it’s time to dissolve your Texas company, you must file termination papers with the secretary of state’s office, bring your taxes up to date and pay the prescribed filing fees.
