Startups are hot in Houston (UPDATED)

Looks like Houston is getting some recognition as the place to be. We’ve had quite a few articles in local, regional and national news outlets about Houston being a great place to live, to work and have a small business, and to have a relationship. Now we’re getting some news coverage for the burgeoning startup community as well.

Startup Houston has an event calendar you might want to check out, if you’re interested in connecting with local startups (and the entrepreneurs behind them).

Start Houston hosts a monthly Demo Day where local startups do a presentation to mentors, and a large audience, and get some feedback on their plans. It’s a great event. They will usually promote the dates on their Facebook page. The next scheduled event is March 27, 2013 at 6:30pm.

By the way, SAVE THE DATE for the next Startup Weekend Houston on April 26, 2013 and the Rice Business Plan Competition on April 11-13, 2013.
