Nominate the Executive Communicator of the Year

IABC Houston is taking nominations for the Executive Communicator of the Year:

Every year IABC Houston recognizes the achievements of one area executive whose outstanding professional performance in the past year significantly contributes to the Houston communication industry.

The IABC Houston “Executive Communicator of the Year” award is the Chapter’s way of acknowledging outstanding leadership, professional accomplishment, and service to the nominee’s organization and the profession.

The “Executive Communicator of the Year” award honors a corporate executive who understands and actively supports good communication practices in the nominee’s company, institution or organization. A qualifying nominee must:

Be an active senior manager (communication and public relations professionals are ineligible)

Demonstrate a solid understanding and support of communication practices within the nominee’s organization, and

Exemplify the highest ethical and professional standards in fulfilling the nominee’s responsibilities.

NOMINATION DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 30, 2013 at 12 NOON

Nominees for the award will be evaluated on these points:

Skills: Demonstration of exceptional leadership, management and communication skills.

Diverse communications audience: Experience and involvement in communicating to diverse audiences.

Strategy: Use of a communications strategy that demonstrates creativity and innovation and contributes to the measurable success of the organization.

Commitment to communication: Commitment to internal communication consultants and communication programs involving internal and external audiences of the organization.

Personal communication: Effective personal communication used with all audiences (i.e., must actively participate in communication, not simply direct the communication staff in their efforts).

Ethics and professionalism in communication: Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards.
