Meet the Leader: Sylvia Garcia

I’m finding some gems amongst the Houston’s Voice website. This video is an interview/spotlight on Sylvia Garcia, who was the first Hispanic to be presiding judge for the City of Houston, who then became City Controller and subsequently Harris County Commissioner.

I’ve heard her speak about her roots, growing up in rural Texas and literally learning to drive a tractor before learning to drive a car. It’s very inspiring. The video is worth watching and, at less than 5 minutes, not too long to share.
