Expect more Houston millionaires

The Houston Business Journal is reporting that the number of millionaires in Houston is “expected to grow more 19 percent in the next five years.” This is part of an article discussing the improved outlook of respondents in a survey about financial stability.

There’s a part of me that likes the idea of having more millionaires in Houston, even though I am not one of them. It’s an ego thing.

There’s a part of me that much prefers the articles I’ve been reading about the improved perception of Houston, nationally, as the great city it is. We have a low unemployment rate, a great business environment (for all businesses), and have recovered faster than other cities time and again.

Can you tell I love this place?

It’s an interesting article, with a note at the end that the May 31, 2013 print edition will have a deeper look at the numbers.
