City of Houston Hosts “Meet the Buyer” Purchasing Forum, December 6th

On Tuesday, December 6, 2011, City of Houston departments will host the 3rd annual “Meet the Buyer” Purchasing Forum. The free event will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center, 1001 Avenida De Las Americas, Houston 77010, 9 a.m. to noon, 3rd Level, Room 370. Registration will begin at 8 a.m.

Local small business owners will have a unique opportunity to meet with buyers from City departments and discuss current and future procurement opportunities. There will be information presented on the City procurement process, vendor registration and requirements. Additionally, attendees will learn about Hire Houston First, an ordinance passed by Houston City Council that is intended to boost the local economy by utilizing Houston-area businesses.

Business owners can register online at through Friday, December 2, 2011. Onsite registration the day of the event is also available.
